How do I configure the Netscape Communicator for OS/2 web browser to work with the RealPlayer
8 for Windows Utilizing ODIN?

Make sure ODIN is properly installed.

Install Realplayer 8 using ODIN.

Start Netscape Communicator.

Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences.

Double-click Navigator to expand the list.
-
Select Applications.
-
Scroll to see if the RealPlay File type is listed.
-- If the file type
is listed, select it and click the Edit button.
-- If the file type
is not listed, click the New Type button.
-
Enter the following information
in the appropriate fields:
Description of
Type RealAudio File
Extension
.ra, .ram
MIME Type
audio/x-pn-realaudio
-
For the Application to
use, click the Browse button and locate the Realplay.exe program.
(The default location
is C:\Program Files\Real\Realplayer)
Please note:
if you installed Realplayer with the default setting it will not work!
Netscape path truncates
it at C:\Program, the space is what throws it off. Please install Realplayer
in a 8 letter or less directory eg: C:\WINAPPS as the Realplayer
program directory. It will work fine then.

Click OK.
Repeat the steps above
for each of the file types whose information is listed below.

How do I manually configure Netscape 6 (Warpzilla
& IBM Browser) to work with RealPlayer
8 for Windows?
1. Start Warpzilla or IBM Browser
2. Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
3. Select the "Helper Applications" category.
4. Click New Type.
In the New
Type dialog box, enter the following:
Description
of type: RealPlayer File
File extension:
.ra, .rm, .ram
MIME type:
audio/x-pn-realaudio
5. Click Choose
and locate Realplay.exe. (by deafult, C:\Winapps(where you installed Realplayer
through ODIN)\Real\RealPlayer\realplay.exe).
6. Click OK.
Repeat the steps above
for each of the file types whose information is listed below.

7. Close Netscape and
restart Windows.
8. Start Netscape.
9. Click the Edit
menu and choose Preferences.
10. Select the "Helper
Applications" category.
11. Click "RealPlayer
File" (or "audio/x-pn-realaudio") in the File types window.
12. Click Edit.
13. Click to clear
the "Ask me before opening downloaded files of this type" check box.
14. Click OK.
Repeat steps 11-14
for each of the file types below:

RealVideo File
RealMedia File
RealAudio File
