<Doug> I would say - get the machine. Of course that is easier said than done

<KenKrchnr> Voice1 has not been accessible for at least 10 days. I was assuming it was in transit.

<Doug> Ken - currently we have x:\home\anonymous\... with various directories under
<Doug> people can upload to anonymous - or at least I can

<KenKrchnr> Only authorized users can upload.
<Doug> I am making the database triggers and UDFs now to control disk files that are referenced in the database
<Doug> It would be nice to put those in a directory tree that cannot be uploaded by any user
<Doug> I want to hard code that top part of the directory tree to prevent users from uploading files to c:\config.sys
<KenKrchnr> Any user, or any non authorized user?
<Doug> structure should be prevented from all users
<Doug> even authorized
<Doug> This way we know that all the files in that tree are from, and controlled by, the database.
<KenKrchnr> OK, we can do that, just let me know what configuration you'd like. Or, you can create the tree, and then I'll knock you out of it :-)
<Doug> I can do that with SSH. Which is how we can get the files in there if we need to bypass the database interface
<Doug> How about x:\home\warpdoctor - since that isn't used for HTML anymore?
<KenKrchnr> A directory off warpdoctor would be good.
<Doug> OH - it would be good if anonymous users could READ (download) from the tree - just no writing or deleting in the tree
<Doug> Do you want to hang it off of x:\home\anonymous if anonymous READ is allowed?
<KenKrchnr> That's as anonymous is now. We can alias the directory from warpdoctor to do that.
<KenKrchnr> Or we can just make it a subdirectory of the current anonymous, either way will work.

<Doug> Ken - when apache does a directory listing, does is use any extended attributes, like .LONGNAME or .SUBJECT, etc.?
<KenKrchnr> I believe it can be set to use some of the attributes, I'd have to check which ones.
<KenKrchnr> And if it doesn't use what you like, it can always be done with simple code.
